99 Seconds of Change
Step 1. Choosing a Modern Day Issue in the Real World
The process for choosing a modern day issue was easy for me because my topic was something that has always bothered me. I chose Texting and Driving. So many people ignore the laws for it and whenever I am in a car with someone who is texting and driving, I feel that I am in not in a safe environment and don't feel comfortable confronting them.

Step 2. Research the Issue
The research process was interesting because I learned a lot about the different laws in different states for texting and driving. A fact that stood out to me was that in 2010, driver distraction was the cause of 18% of all crashes killing 3,092 people and wounding 416,000.

Step 3. Write a Formal Persuasive Business Letter to an Appropriate Real World Audience
I chose to write to Apple Inc. because I knew that I couldn't do anything about whether people ignore the laws of texting and driving or not, so I decided to come up with a way to actually disable phone use in a vehicle instead of just discouraging it. Since I cannot do that myself, I thought it would be appropriate to send a business letter to a phone company, or in this case, Apple Inc. and suggest my idea so that they mi

Step 4. Write a less formal 2 column script targeted towards an Informal Audience
After choosing one of the topics my partner or I did research on, we were required to write a 2 column script. This process was fun because we were able to come up with our audio and cool ideas for images.

Step 5. Record your Voice
My partner and I chose to have only one voice speaking throughout our video, so I volunteered to record the audio myself at home using Garageband because the only option at school was Audacity and I am more comfortable using Garageband. I also included sound effects such as texting sounds and a car crash at the beginning of our recording.
Step 6. Find and Edit your images
The process for finding images was easy because we had a pretty clear idea of what we wanted our video to look like in terms of the visual aspect. My partner, Ari is very experienced in using photoshop as well so I learned a lot from him throughout this project.
Step 7. Edit your Video
I learned a lot during this process because I am normally used to using iMovie, so it was nice to change it up a little bit and learn how to use a program that is more professional. (Final Cut Pro) I think our video turned out really well and I am very proud of my partner and I.

Step 8. Post your Video
This step was mostly done by Chris Mutter, our teacher, but we were responsible for coming up with a description, a thumbnail, title and tags.
