Selfie Project
1) What was your initial thought of the Selfie Project?
I first thought it was going to be really fun because of the name. The fact that Chris called it a "Selfie" instead of just a "Portrait" made the project even more interesting. I already knew of the project from seeing the Selfie's from previous years, so I was eager to start my own Selfie.
2) How did you feel about your Selfie and Adobe Illustrator after the first few days?
Using Adobe Illustrator was difficult at first because I had never used it before, but I quickly got the gist of it after playing around with the tools. My Selfie improved each day because I received help from my peers.
3) How did you feel about your Selfie and Adobe Illustrator after you were done with the project?
After I finally finished my Selfie, I was very satisfied. I didn't know I was capable of using Adobe Illustrator and I definitely feel more experienced now that this project is over. I also feel like I am capable of so much after simply drawing a Selfie.
4) What helped you most in learning how to use Adobe Illustrator?
My peers were probably the most helpful because since Chris was out, I relied on them for support. They didn't let me down once. While Chris was gone, we were talking about how proud he would be when he got back. I was amazed at what people including myself who had never used Adobe Illustrator were capable of.
5) What part of your Selfie are you most proud of? What would you have liked to have done better? How were you challenged?
I am most proud of my nose because I think it is what made the drawing look most like me. I constantly tried changing things to see what would match my real nose the most. I would have liked to make my eyes look more realistic. It was challenged the most when doing my teeth because I wanted to make it as similar as possible to my teeth and it was difficult to create the perfect shapes.
6) What did you like about the project?
I simply liked the whole idea of it. I like how he related pop culture to multimedia because It made the project more interesting. I also thought it was fun using Adobe Illustrator once I finally understood it.
7) How can the project be improved?
I think it would have been helpful to have more peer critiques to improve our drawings even more.
